Is an AI clone of yourself worth it?
Yes if its job is to be seen. No if its job is to decide. The same product succeeds at one and fails silently at the other, which is why the question keeps getting answered badly.
Two jobs that look like one job
Clone products are sold as a single thing: more of you, in more places. In practice the work splits cleanly, and the split predicts almost everything.

Fronting work is mostly retrieval and delivery, in your voice, of things you have already said. A clone is built from exactly that material, so it is being asked to do the thing it is made of. It often does it well, and buying one can be straightforwardly worth it.
Deciding work is not retrieval. It is a call, and a call has to come from somewhere. The clone's somewhere is a statistical reconstruction of the most likely version of you, which is not the same object as you and is different in exactly the places you would be different from a competent stranger.
The rule: price the confident wrong answer
Do not evaluate a clone on how good it is. Evaluate it on what happens when it is wrong and sure of itself, because that is the only state it has.
The second question is the one people skip, and it is the more important of the two.
Fronting work is self-correcting, because a human is on the other end. If the clone says something slightly off, the person frowns, asks again, or emails you. The error surfaces. The system has a correction loop whether or not anyone designed one.
Deciding work has no such loop. If the clone approves something you would have sent back, nothing objects. The work proceeds. The consequence, if there is one, arrives later and attaches itself to something else. You do not get a report saying a decision was made in your name that you would not have made. You get a quarter that went slightly worse than it should have, for reasons no one can name.
Why improvement does not close this
Clones are getting better fast, and that is worth taking seriously rather than dismissing.
What they are getting better at is the resemblance, and the resemblance runs on published output. More output, better modelling, better likeness. None of that touches the rulings, because the rulings never appeared in the output. The decision that produced a page is not in the page.
So the two curves separate. Resemblance climbs. Judgment stays where it was. And the practical result is worse, not better: a rough clone gets caught, and an excellent one does not. The failure gets quieter as the product improves.
The thing a clone has never seen
One structural point, and it is the hardest to engineer around.
A clone is assembled from what you published. What you published is what got through your own filter. Everything you rejected, every draft you killed, every idea you decided against, every version that was nearly right, is not in the material, and there is no way to infer it from what is.
A standard is a line. From the material available, a clone can see everything on one side of the line and nothing on the other. You cannot locate a line from one side.
This is why clones are convincing right up until the moment something should have been refused.
So what is the honest recommendation
Buy the clone for fronting, if the fronting problem is real for you. It is a reasonable purchase and this page is not arguing otherwise.
Do not put it anywhere a call gets made, and be suspicious of any framing that slides from one to the other, because the same product is usually sold for both and the boundary is where the harm is.
If the actual problem is that decisions are stacking up behind you, then the thing that would help is a record of your rulings with their reasons. That can sit underneath a clone perfectly happily. The front end is not the issue. What is underneath it is.
